Envirostripp Chemicals offers products and systems based on special ”green” chemicals which clean items without affecting the underlying material structure. This is achieved through advanced chemical technology, in which the environmentally correct chemicals are integrated into a rational system consisting of the installation, equipment and service. Each solution places requirements regarding customer-adapted functionality and operational security, and also stringent requirements as regards health, environment and safety. In some cases, this even involves chemicals being ”finely programmed” for the requirements of a specific customer.

Stripp is the registered product name of the company’s series of environmentally adapted, easily biodegradable products for industrial paint and adhesive removal. Stripp penetrates efficiently into the paint or adhesive layer and breaks the bond which holds it against the underlying surface.

The product development is network based involving local universities and institutions in the western part of Sweden.

Our manufacturing is rational with high capacity. A managment system controls our key processes as well as the final quality on the products delivered.

In our distribution strategy local distributors have a key role, especially within export. We train our representatives to understand our products from the end user’s perspective.

Balltorp Kemi AB was founded in Mölndal in 1992. The founders had a great deal of experience within advanced surface finishing and in-depth knowledge of the cleaning requirements in order to achieve good end results. This led to a highly functional base technology that became a competitive alternative to the ordinary chlorinating solvents of the time.

Balltorp Kemi AB changed its name to Stripp Chemicals AB and, following a change in ownership in 1998, the business was restructured to focus specifically on the removal of paint and adhesives. Over the course of the following years, the company grew to become the Nordic paint and adhesive removal market leader, under the brand name Stripp®.

In 2001, Stripp Chemicals AB won an order to supply paint removal products for Premier Manufacturing Support Services AB’s facility in Göta, Lilla Edet. This is one of Europe’s largest chemical paint removal plants, serving both Saab Automobile and Pininfarina.

After a number of years of successful product development, the first product using a new water-based technology, 2G, was launched in 2006. The previous effective solvent-based products could now be replaced with water-based versions which, in many cases, gave better results.

In 2007, Stripp Chemicals AB entered into a partnership agreement with the German group Kluthe. This partnership has resulted in an exceptionally broad product portfolio, including everything from cutting fluids to pre-treatment, cleaning agents and water purification.

During 2008, the company was restructured once more, with all operations under the Stripp and Kluthe brands being brought together within a wholly-owned subsidiary, EnviroStripp Chemicals AB. The parent company was renamed EnviroChem IEC AB, with a focus on acting as an incubator for environmental chemistry.
